While not something often sought out by collectors, this is an exceptionally interesting piece given its role. Finland throughout the Second World War saw numerous points of stopping and starting against Soviet soldiers. First with the infamous \"Winter War\" which begun in 1939 and continued after a brief pause in 1940. This then led into the \"Continuation War\", which lasted from 1941 until 1944, when the Finns ceded about 9% of their land to the USSR. During these 5 years, over 500,000 Finnish men were brought into the force. About 200,000 ended up as casualties and it would've been men and women wearing this simple garment, doing their best to save lives day in day out.
