Vintage surplus from Australia during the Commonwealth days. Issued to officer's and those of higher rank during the early years of the cold war, it's a lovely, well made piece of militaria. Caps like this one were used when doing inspections, marches, parades and various ceremonies. The history of the manufacturing company is interesting enough, first being set up in late 1941 as a government backed clothing company for the war effort during WW2.
The colour is a dark olive green / olive drab, that has contrasting embossed gold buttons that feature Australia and her regions. There's also a a rich coffee coloured leather (possibly synthetic?) trim / band above the visor. Usually there would be a beautiful cap badge in the centre, but sadly this cap's badge seems to be missing, but there is still the holes to put a new one into! There's also a khaki dust cover which can be unhooked at the rear.
