Current issue modern British surplus which is absolutely beautiful. The FAD series of ceremonial dress truly keeps with the timeless style often associated with parade and official duty wear. While the No. 2 dress uniform is slightly more focused on utility and field use than say No. 1 dress, it still commands a proper and dutiful aura. All FAD jackets are made to the highest quality, entirely out of pure wool with a sateen type lining, once soldiers have finished their basic training.
This particular jacket belonged to a member of the Royal Logistics Corps, the largest corps in the entire British Armed Forces. This gentleman must've had quite a career in the army, reaching the rank of colour sergeant, which easily would've taken a decade of service if not longer. To show this effort you'll find rank patches on either side as well as an NCO's pips adorning the collar. In addition, he qualified as a marksman, shown by the TRF on the right sleeve. Finally, there's a beautiful gold and navy aiguillette across the left shoulder.
The jacket comes with 7 pockets in total, 2 which can be fastened shut on the chest, 2 larger flap hip pockets and then 3 internal pockets for whatever bits and pieces you may have. There are also shoulder epaulettes to fastened ceremonial sashes and or affix rank pips. Belt loops are also included, which help to keep well positioned some of the beautifully vibrant regimental stable belts when worn on parade. A fantastic jacket all around which builds nicely on the older variations of British military dress uniforms.
