A stunning vintage blazer from an often overlooked branch of British government which was crucial in keeping British revenue secure. Founded in 1909 the HM Customs & Excise was designed to control the boom in international trade. A jacket like this one would've belonged to a gentleman tasked with levying taxes and import duties.
This timeless jacket features heavy inspiration from the Royal Navy, which makes sense given the close working quarters between these two government bodies. You'll find golden half laurels on each sleeve as well as golden crown buttons across the double breasted front which contrast beautifully against the dark navy blue colour of the jacket.
Practically there's 3 external pockets; 2 flap and 1 slit pocket and internally 2 slit pockets, offering ample storage space for a smart jacket. The blazer is tailored to the highest quality and the sateen lining is luxurious. A really well made piece of clothing from a bygone era.
