Vintage but still in standard general issue surplus from Central Europe. These Czech jackets are issued to each soldier after basic training for ceremonial events, from parades to graduations and anything else in between. They're a soft, comfortable 45% wool and 55% polyester blend jacket, making it lightweight and not too stuffy.
When Czechoslovakia split up at the very end of 1992, the two new armies mirrored each others, in everything from combat clothing to dress uniforms like this. For a good while the only way to tell the two apart were by the buttons on the front. Eventually the Czechs changed their colours up and became a bit more distinctive, but the Slovak army stuck with their original style.
Feature wise, the jacket takes inspiration from the timeless design of European field jackets, utilising a safari style set of pockets, 2 on the chest with 2 on each hip as well as a small internal slit pocket for keeping your smaller items secure. The buttons are detailed beautifully, featuring two crossed swords with branches above. There's also shoulder epaulettes for any rank slides or details you may want to add. Great for modern history as well as costumes and theatre use.
