Grades - 

• Grade 1 - Good condition, appears to have had light use before but over all is in great shape, especially for sitting in storage since the fall of East Germany. Some small marks on the sleeve but should wash out.

A piece rich in Cold War history. With over 200,000 members, the KdA, East Germany's de facto militia was a force to be reckoned with on par with the national police. The group's history is long and fascinating which makes for brilliant reading. The jacket itself would've been issued to those within the group as a field jacket, being essentially identical to what was issued to the NVA, just without the camouflage pattern. 

You'll find not only is the jacket durable with its cotton material, it also offers plenty of storage with 2 well sized chest pockets, 2 sleeve pockets, all of which can be buttoned, but also a concealed pocket within the jacket, intended for pistols when worn for combat. Nowadays you could probably substitute it for some cigarettes, a decent quantity of gum or other little trinket.
