Grades -

  • Grade 2 / Original Condition - Clear signs of prior use, from fading to some repairs made across the body. Missing buttons off the cuffs and some small holes on the back. Also appears armpit air vents were cut out. Please see photos for all flaws. Great for a distressed and grungy look, plenty of character and does still function as a jacket without being completely ragged. Price reflects these issues.

Beautiful vintage surplus from East Germany. This classic summer kit saw use throughout the army for decades. It has a simple but unique design and offers ample storage with 6 pockets! Made of a cotton blend it is wonderfully durable. Jackets like this one would've been used by all branches of the army for a wide range of purposes, so flexibility for a range of environments was crucial! The jacket has adjustable button wrist cuffs to help insulate on colder days and armpit vents for warmer ones. Rank boards can also be attached at the shoulders.

The camouflage is of course the iconic East German "Strichmuster" or "Raindrop" pattern, a camo that saw widespread use throughout the Eastern Bloc during the cold war. It's a pretty effective camouflage and it offers a unique style that isn't obviously a military design. It's made up of olive green with brown ochre lines running down the piece.
