Grades - 

• Grade 1 - Issued previously, but in excellent condition. Not many signs of use. It has been in long term storage, so there is rarely small bits of rust and may need a wash (I'd recommend by hand) to remove that classic army surplus smell, but over all ready to go!

Vintage surplus from East Germany. These used to be the standard issue rucksack to hundreds of thousands of East German soldiers, in use across several environments. They're made from a cotton canvas material, great for your comfort and durability. 

The bag offers plenty of space, with no exterior pockets like many other military items. The shoulder straps can be adjusted to suit your form and there's also plenty of clasps about the bag if you want to attach any gear like canteens etc. On newer bags there is an internal waterproof lining. This was something the Army felt important to add after a good few years of trial (and complaints) by soldiers. So if you're wanting to for field use, I'd recommend the lining, and if not the regular will suit you fine!

For the camouflage it is of course the iconic and quite cute East German "Strichmuster" or "Raindrop" camouflage pattern. One of the most recognizable out of the Eastern Bloc and one that also spurred on new designs across the faction. It is made up of an olive brown base, with vertical dark brown lines.
