An iconic piece of field headwear that has seen use for decades. First made standard issue by the Germans in the early 1900's, mostly with its mountaineering corps, but after the first World War, the Finnish adopted the German design for their M36 uniform in 1936, and the rest is history. The caps have become an integral part of Finnish design and have only had slight changes made over the decades. Today the M04 variant is made of a polyester & wool blend material, but still includes the fold down windproofing and engraved Finnish lion buttons.
