- Grade 2 / Original Condition - In fantastic shape given its age, having no holes or tears but understandably after 100 years and with such a delicate colour, it is quite grubby and tarnished. Looks to just be visual flaws and no missing buttons or holes. Lovely piece all around from a very brief period of history.

An absolutely incredible antique piece of militaria issued sailors of the the newly independent Finnish Republic. Having only gained their freedom from the Russian Empire in late 1917, the M/19 series was the first properly standardised uniform the navy saw, quickly changed to the M/22 series which lasted until the 1930's. This type of jacket gave the Finn's an identity while keeping with a tried and tested style familiar to those who served in the Russian Empire during the First World War. The jacket is of an excellent quality cotton material which has certainly stood the test of time.
You'll find the jacket has 2 small slit chest pockets for storage and also beautiful engraved buttons which were only issued to the M/19 uniform as the later model added a rope ring to the exterior of the buttons. A beautiful piece of militaria that embodies the brilliant history that surrounds the Finnish story of identity and freedom.
