Designed back in the 50s at the formation of the Bundeswehr, this 3/4 length greatcoat hasn't changed in decades. The Germans, efficient as ever, came up with an elegant gabardine coat and that was that! 70 years on and they're still in issue, albeit in a more ceremonial capacity. The design is quite Western, featuring a double breasted closure and a notched lapel. The main difference against an East German greatcoat of the same era, being that the West utilised gabardine over thicker wool tweeds.
The coats come entirely in dark grey which is contrasted but the stippled silver buttons. The liner inside is split colour wise between a grey sateen polyester top and a blue checkered tartan bottom. Said liner isn't the thickest, but certainly does help insulate in autumnal weather. Good for the rainy season.
