Believed to be issued to German policemen during the Cold War, this unusual piece of surplus features 2 small button pockets and is made of a vinyl material, padded out with polyester to provide lightweight protection, mostly from the elements. It is closed by 2 D rings which can be adjusted to any length. There are certainly more efficient belts on the market these days but as a collector's piece it makes for a brilliant addition. Given the location listed on the inner paper slip, it is most likely East German.
