Very recent surplus from Italy. These lovely and bright desert jackets are comfortable and lightweight, all while being made with a ripstop cotton blend. The Italian army used this camouflage over in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as a few other arid environments in recent years and was standard issue. Only later on did they make a few small tweaks to this jacket, swapping out the velcro pockets for button ones and changing the camouflage to be a bit darker.

You'll find 5 good sized pockets, 2 large velcro chest pockets, a button pocket on each shoulder and then an internal zipper closed pocket on the left chest for storing your most important items. 

To help insulate you and better tailor the fit to your ideal preference, there are button adjustable wrist cuffs as well as an internal torso drawstring. In windy weather you can fully button up the cuffs and turn the collar over and latch it across, helping to keep you comfortable. During the summer months, you'll be thankful for the ventilated armpits which not only help regulate your temperature, they also help with maneuverability. 

For the camouflage it is the early Italian desert colourway, the 2004 "mimetico vegetato deserto" or desert vegetated pattern. This colourway was darkened around 2013, but the early models like this one, used in Iraq and the middle east, are much lighter in tone and contrast a bit more nicely. It has the usual sandy colours with splashs of reddish brown throughout.
