A really special piece of Cold War military surplus. These surprisingly bright and cheerful woollen blankets were issued from the early 1950's onward, intended for use by the Polish People's Army and Civil Defence. The thick blanket is made entirely from soft new wool and was produced by the Lubsko textiles firm in Poland, offering fantastic warmth and comfort.
The blankets came in several funky and unique retro patterns, this particular one is in an orange beige blocky zig zag. For us, image of such colourful pieces lining a Polish barracks over on the Soviet side of the iron curtain always sparks so much fascination for the time period. If you're after a great piece of surplus for the harsh winter months and one with an amazing history, you certainly can't go wrong with one of these.
