Grades - 

• Grade 2 / Original Condition - In decent shape but does have a few signs of long term storage. This includes a few moth holes across the piece as shown. There are also some markings. Price reduced but up for much more wear

This is the Romanian People's Republic greatcoat, used by the communist army as general issue from the mid 1960's onward. It was intended for an array of branches as it was a general issue item. As was the case for many Soviet aligned countries, it stayed with traditional double breasted closures and a thick, lightly processed wool to retain it's waterproof lanolin. 

Our favourite part of the coats are the buttons. Like most Eastern Bloc countries, Romania has beautiful embossed buttons, showing off their coat of arms. Although they're small, the buttons feature rolling mountains with a lakeside forest below all wrapped up inside a wheat laurel with a practically mandatory soviet star above! So much character packed into a little button.
