Vintage headwear from the Swedish Army. The M59 field cap was the summer cap worn with the M59 uniform, which was issued from the very late 1950s right up until the 1990s, when Sweden moved over to camouflage. Early caps like these are 100% cotton, with later production from around the 1980s switching to a cotton and polyester blend.

A classic trapper cap design, minimalistic and hard wearing, that has held up for decades. The ear flaps can be turned up on warmer days or kept down against the elements, and the firm visor adds a bit more protection, making it best suited to spring and autumn. Sweden thankfully deviated from the usual olive green of mid 20th century Western aligned armies and went with a lovely, slightly more vibrant forest green. Still great for camouflage, but a little more distinguished than the norm.
