Grades - 

• Grade 1 - Excellent condition especially considering the age. Previously issued with a few light signs of use. May need airing due to long term storage but over all ready for wear. No holes or tears!
• Grade 1.5 Rust - Much like Grade 1, but due to some of the earlier models of the jacket using metal buttons, 60 odd years later they do have some patina or rust. Buttons may be able to be recovered or may need replacing. An example picture is provided and price reflects this.
• Grade 1.5 Missing Buttons - Excellent condition but through the years a button or two has come off the coat and will need replacing. Usually this is the hidden storm collar button, but it can vary.

Delightful vintage surplus from the Swedish Land Forces which were first introduced in 1959! Issued en masse to all service personnel these jackets soon became a staple in Sweden and the world once surplus'd to the public. The design was so well recieved there was little change to the design for nearly 30 years! Change came only when the Swedes decided camouflage might be the way forward.

On this particular style you'll find a button front closure which can be done right up to the neck for harsher weather. 2 Large hip button pockets and 2 button rear pockets, offering plenty of storage space and even 2 pouches on the inner left chest for all your personals. It is made from 100% cotton and has a partial lining meaning it's wonderfully simple to wash. 

Over all an absolutely fantastic piece of vintage military surplus. In my eyes the Swedish M59 jacket is the field jacket, whether it be with the beautiful engraved buttons as this current batch is, or with the plain brown, it's a great piece of kit for any country wardrobe!
