Grades - 

• Grade 2 - Great condition over all with general signs of prior wear. The biggest flaw comes from 2 small tears on the back, about 1.5cm in length, which will need repairing. The chest badge would benefit from resewing too. Aside from this no major issues and nearly ready for use!

Wonderfully peculiar vintage surplus from 1980's Sweden. This coat, while general issue is seldom seen equipped with a "Postverket" chest badge. The "Postverket" or "The Royal Post Office" is the national postage network in Sweden and while today it operates like any other, back in the Cold War it held much more importance where secrecy was key. Soldiers who were given this little blue badge were vital in keeping Sweden's defence strategy in fighting condition. The previous owner was also a member of the Home Guard, Sweden's territorial defence force, in the Gothenburg garrison.

For utility, the coat is equipped like any other M59 jacket, coming with 2 large button hip / waist pockets, 2 rear ones for ammunition and sundries and 1 large and 1 small internal pocket for documents, ID cards, matches and cigarettes or even some gum. In harsh weather the collar can be flipped up and fastened shut to provide a little bit of extra protection. It is made entirely from a poly-cotton blend and is quite thick.
