An iconic piece of surplus if ever there was one. The classic crackerjack jumper has been used by sailors across the globe for centuries. This particular top belonged to a member of the U. S. S. Shenandoah, not the 1923 airship, but the AD-44 destroyer, which was launched the very same year, 1983, that this top was issued.
The pullover comes with 2 pockets, one faux and one functional. It is made from a thick 100% polyester material. You'll find that the previous sailor, "Fish" as stated by their name label, made it up to the rank of Petty Officer Second Class as shown by the sleeve patch. On the opposite side is the ship patch. A jumper like this, although fairly common place is a beautiful piece of militaria to cherish, especially with such a timeless and iconic look.
